Alex Kummer Scholarship
Alex’s family has established the Alex Kummer Foundation and Scholarship in his memory. We believe Alex would want us to talk about this and raise awareness, to let others know to talk to someone if you are in a place of feeling empty. While Alex enjoyed baseball and being with friends he also excelled scholastically. He was enrolled in advanced and college level courses as a Junior, while maintaining a 4.0+ GPA.
Alex had goals to attend Augustana University after high school – with his ultimate goal to become an Anesthesiologist. Alex was a gifted, smart young man but most of all he was kind and made an impact on all who knew him. He left an imprint on all lives he touched. The Alex Kummer Scholarship is a one-time scholarship award in the amount of $3,000.00 that will be awarded annually. Applications must be received by May 1, 2025 with the scholarship being awarded at the Alex Kummer Memorial Baseball Tournament that is held each year the first weekend in June. More details will be shared with the recipient upon acceptance.
Eligibility requirements:
1 / High School Graduate
Must be a graduating high school senior within the State of South Dakota
2 / College
Must be attending college in the fall and complete first year – the family will request a check-in after the first year to keep the scholarship
3 / Academics
Must be in good academic standing
